The Ultimate Insult: Coming Soon!

WeftyWoman.com is taking on Name Drafting...
So be sure to check back this week, for some interesting weave drafts and a new blog entry that should tickle your fancy. I am working on a new blog post: Name Drafting, Insult Someone With Weave Patterns That Are So Nasty, But Look So Good!

I was really into Name Drafting in 2000 and 2001...I made some lovely things, baby blankets mostly, that were woven using Name Drafting. I did not have any weave programs, this was done the old fashioned way on graft paper with color pencils. I remember riding the train into Manhattan from the station near my home in Newtown, Connecticut (Bethel Station). It was 11/2 hours at least to get into Grand Central one way. I would bring my big heavy pattern book, weave notebook, and grafting paper...with pencils and crayons...and work on patterns using names, dates, and loving terms of endearment. I would weave these patterns with love and give them as gifts to friends and family. It is such a beautiful thing to give something so personal and special to those you adore...

But now things have changed, I have become jaded and pissed off...so with this new found angst (well it was always there but I had more control over it back then) I am off to see what lovely patterns can come of nasty words...

Imagine giving a gift to someone you can't stand, like your mother-in-law who has always been a bitch to you. It is woven so carefully and a beauty to behold. Little does she know that the pattern you designed just for her is based on words that are coded and drafted to produce an ultimate insult...

Thank you,

If you have any suggestions for clever insults, please post a comment...who knows it could be a new weaving challenge for your local guild.

I'm gonna start off with "FVck You".
I'd like to see something with that.
